Bio: In short, I want to make as big of an impact as I can with graphic design.
In a little less short, design activism is the niche that I have been waiting for. When I decided to pursue art and design, I had to decide that I wouldn’t pursue social work or work that involved helping those in need. I realized that through graphic design I can give a voice to the voiceless that I have wanted to help. Since discovering this, I feel an obligation to use my skills as a designer and communicator to pursue design activism. Amongst many things, I believe there is an overwhelming lack of information and communication distributed to the public concerning important social issues. I want to solve this through graphic design. Additionally, it would be lovely to see protestors have a little more graphic design in their posters, and I want to help that!
I am currently a Junior at the University of Southern California but studying abroad for a semester at the University of the Arts London: London College of Communication for Graphic and Media Design. Having grown up for 10 years here in London and now residing in DTLA, my inspiration comes from all over the place, from street art in Shoreditch, London to massive murals and protest posters in Los Angeles, to the unexpected doodle on a newspaper box in my hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina.
