Organization name: M&M Swap Meet

Organization mission statement: The M & M Market was founded by the Miranda family in October 2000 with only twenty independent businesses/business owners selling products and services to the Hillsboro community. Within three months the market would have grown to forty independent businesses.

Over the next years, the market continues to grow, now with eighty independent businesses. Selling a wide variety of products ranging from clothing, shoes, jewelry, videos, music, household goods, and food. Our market includes a full-service muffler shop, tire shop, and an automotive /mechanical repairs shop.

In 2008, we inaugurated Hillsboro Futsal (Indoor Soccer), hich was added to provide the youth and adult community with opportunities for entertainment, sport and recreation. Today our Futsal has grown to include leagues of all ages and genders.

We serve the community and promote business, we want to invite people of all cultures and nationalities to be part of our market, thus contributing to our growth and cultural diversity. We foster entrepreneurship and invite you to visit us any weekend, we are open year-round!

What groups or causes does your organization serve?: The M&M Swap meet serves Latino entrepreneurs and Latono communities throughout the metro region.

Project description: In tandem with an effort collaborating with Depave this fall to make greenspace and cafe improvements to the outside of the market (www.depave.org/mandm) we would like to explore improving our branding, signage, and marketing to be more cohesive to take the market to the next level. We like what the Portland Mercado has done and would like to do something similar in order to build awareness of M&M and connect to a wider section of the community in Hillsboro and surrounding areas.

Project needs: update to existing logo/brand, brand, marketing, and / or digital strategy, brand messaging / voice

Other project needs not listed above: Cohesive signage tied to the brand for the interior and exterior of the facility for vendors and the market as a whole.

Project Timeline: 3-6 months

How will this creative work help you overcome challenges or meet specific goals?: Updating our image and creating more avenues for marketing the services of M&M's vendors will help make M&M a destination cultural marketplace and support its many Latino vendors and their families.
