The Bus Project

The Bus Project is making politics accessible and fun for young people, through mobilization, empowerment and building progressive communities while making Oregon a better place for everyone. We mobilize, empower, and train young people to participate in our democracy to advance progressive and social change.

What groups or causes does your organization serve?: Core Purpose: We mobilize, empower, and train young people to participate in our democracy to advance progressive and social change.

Vision: We envision Oregon with an accessible democracy, young people participating in and leading civic and political life, and building a progressive, fair, and prosperous future for everyone.

Project description: We're going all out to push the following local, and national, legislation:
A national popular vote - no more electoral college!
Ballot drop boxes at every high school
Paid postage on mail-in ballots
Voter pre-registration at 16
Density standards to increase ballot drop box locations
Access to voting for prisoners
An online voting task force
Automatic voter registration for people passing through DHS, the IRS, and enrolled in college
Increased multi-language resources for non-english speaking voters
Taking young leaders to the capitol to get them activated and engaged in making these changes!

Project needs: brand, marketing, and / or digital strategy, brand messaging / voice, storytelling, photography, splash page design, staff portraits, brochure(s), postcards, marketing strategy, promotional video, documentary/storytelling video, digital newsletter design, social media branding, search engine optimization

Project Timeline: 1 year+

How will this creative work help you overcome challenges or meet specific goals?: We know that design can inspire ACTION, especially for younger generations. But as a non-profit with limited funds, often design comes last! We know our voice could be amplified with improved assets to promote engagement.

WHAT WE NEED NOW

Year-round our volunteers head to the capital to help push important legislation, promote action at events or door-to-door in their own neighborhoods, register voters on high school and college campuses, & board our bus to canvas for progressive candidates and issues in rural Oregon.

We know they could be more effective if they were armed with dynamic assets that grabbed attention.
